Eaglefeather/Arch Oboler Estate Reconstruction

This project for the restoration of Eaglefeather, the Arch Oboler Estate, which was devastated by the Woolsey Fire in 2018, encompasses the reconstruction of the 1941 Retreat (for Eleanor Oboler) and other buildings on the 120-acre property. While the main house was never realized due to its difficult siting, the built campus included studios, stables, a paddock and the gatehouse that was used as the principal residence. The Retreat (with construction overseen by John Lautner) was a smaller version of daring cantilever structure of the unrealized structure.
