A-frame Re-frame
2018-Present

This mid-century house by noted architect Stephen Alan Siskind is one of a small colony of Glu-lam structures built in a Los Feliz hillside neighborhood in the early1960s. One aspect of the project was strictly restoration of the historic A-frame wood structure and wooden balcony deck to reveal the beauty of the original building. Interior spaces were reimagined to create an open-plan loft space with carefully detailed built-in wooden forms defining private spaces (office, sleeping, and master bath) for a musician owner with an appreciation of the lifestyle imposed by the modernist single-space configuration.
